Here comes “mPaper”, which will provide an opportunity for content publishers as well as news carriers to offer newspapers on the mobile screen in their original format.
Pressmart and IMImobile on Wednesday announced the availability of “mPaper”.
This unique collaborative technology will give news publishers an opportunity to tap the fast growing mobile mass market of young and technology savvy subscribers who wish to read news and access their favourite newspaper content while on the move.
Pressmart, a subsidiary of Bodhtree Consulting Limited, is a new media delivery partner of leading newspapers and magazines published in over 15 languages across 21 countries. IMImobile is a next-generation end-to-end enabler of Mobile Value Added Services (VAS) for mobile operators, media companies and enterprises.
Sanjiv Gupta, CEO of Pressmart, told a news conference in Hyderabad that mPaper offers features like archives and options to search and save news reports and will be available on a monthly subscription.
To begin with, nine major operators from India and other nations will offer this service over WAP portals for their customers.
The newspaper brands that will be immediately available include The Hindustan Times (Mumbai and Delhi editions), Deccan Chronicle (Hyderabad and Chennai Editions), DNA, Indian Express, The Asian Age, The Financial Express, The New Indian Express, The Telegraph and Pioneer.Advertisements
